SVEINUNG TARALDSSON was born at UDDEDALEN, as was his younger brother Torjus. The family then moved to BYGGLAND, where his two youngest brothers were born. The Kviteseid Gardssoga suggests that the Byggland farm was sold when SVEINUNG and GUNNHILD moved to STRÅND, but that may not be accurate as their son AANUND SVEINUNGSSON continued to live at BYGGLAND.
SVEINUNG died July 8, 1840, at STRÅND u:Byggland. GUNNHILD died there Mar 3., 1847.

Talliev Sveinungsson
Talleiv Sveinungsson VERSTO had seven children, His first was son Sveinung Talleivsson, who was born at Versto. Versto is across the river from Byggland. In recent times it has been used as a tourist motel. When his father moved to Byggland, Sveinung remained at Versto. He married and had four children there. The last of the four was born in 1881. Two years later, Sveinung and his family immigrated to Jackson County, WI. They lived in York and the area north of there, known as Timber Creek. Four more children were born. The family went by the name Vesta in America.
